A new survey of 2000 adults in the UK revealed 65% were totally unaware of the Government's Feed-in Tariff's. 32% of the survey were unsure how much money they could earn or save from renewable installations on their home. Feed-in Tariff's pay the homeowner a set amount per kWh of energy produced from electricity generating renewable sources, like photovoltaic solar panels. |

Rising rents force 100,000 more into flat-share market. |

A specialist flat-sharing website claims rising rents have forced more than 100,000 new renters into flat-sharing over the last year. The average number of renters living as flat-mates or lodgers has risen to 2,851,000 as renters have started living together to share living costs. What could have led to a desperate shortage of rentable accommodation has been avoided, due partly to more and more homeowners renting out spare rooms. |

If you're thinking of installing underfloor heating as part of a new build, extension or renovation, then you shouldn't neglect solar hot water to power it. Government incentive tariff's (similar to the current Feed-in Tariff's for photovoltaic electricity generating panels) will start paying out next year, with some pilot scheme and installation incentives already being trialled in the Governments Green Deal. |
